HLAC Heroes 2020 – Catering Staff at Hawkesbury Village

Kudos to all of the catering staff at Hawkesbury Village.

You’ve been recognised as 2020 HLAC Heroes for working diligently throughout many changes and challenges, and going above and beyond servicing the residents needs without expecting anything in return.

Each of the staff members at Hawkesbury Village offered unique support and services to residents over the past few months, raising the bar when it comes to care and catering.

Carmen Vella made clothing adjustments, completed alterations each night and returned to the residents the next day.

Tim Villafinana covered shifts and spent additional time helping the residents in the dining room and delivering meals.

Helena Cooper volunteered and set up a fund raiser called The Great Hawkesbury Scone Bake Off, where residents competed against the chef for the title of of Scone Queen or King.

The entire catering team worked with residents to conduct a bake sale and raised over $350 for a local charity (The Women’s Cottage, Richmond) and chefs conducted puree workshops to improve the taste and presentation of meals- all while in lockdown!

Thanks for being HLAC Heroes!
