Maureen Hincksman - Lifestyle Services Coordinator - Allity Lilydale Aged Care
It’s safe to say that jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet in the Yarra Valley with resident, Bob, proves that Maureen Hincksman goes above and beyond when it comes to lifestyle events for residents at Allity Lilydale.
Maureen's colleagues nominated her for a 2023 Hospitality and Lifestyle Aged Care (HLAC) Hero Award, for her zest for the job and ability to encourage residents to give anything a try!
They said "Maureen is always looking for new and exciting ways to bring residents out of their shell, get them more engaged or tick anything they want off their bucket list", and is always willing to get involved in the activity herself and share the memorable experience (cue the sky diving).
With activities such as a hot air balloon ride full of residents and team members, or a sleepover at the local zoo, Maureen ensures each day is a new and exciting adventure for residents and team mates at Allity Lilydale.
The Hospitality and Lifestyle Aged Care (HLAC) Awards, a program run by SoupedUp, recognises and rewards outstanding team members across catering, cleaning, laundry, and lifestyle services within aged care homes.
The unique program is designed specifically for hospitality and lifestyle staff, in an aim to award and acknowledge the roles and professions that often fly under the radar in aged care.
More information on the 2024 Hospitality and Lifestyle Aged Care (HLAC) Awards will be announced soon.
