We’re thrilled to announce a new addition to our team – SoupedUp Chef Lee Ruane! Known for his simmering passion and seasoned expertise, Chef Lee is set to bring a fresh flavour to the SoupedUp kitchen.
Let’s ladle out some juicy details about the chef who’s about to spice up our software solutions as our Catering and Solutions Manager.
Stirring the Pot with Expertise
Chef Lee knows all too well the highs and lows of aged care catering. In his previous role as Hospitality Manager at Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged Inc, Chef Lee wanted to bring the amazing outside world restaurant experience into residents homes.
He made it his mission to collaborate with local businesses to offer residents fresh produce and quality food with every meal service, every day.
A resident's world is so reduced and often the last choice they have freely available is food. I wanted to offer the best possible food experience for residents to enjoy and have them be just as excited to wake up and come out and enjoy it again the next day.
A Recipe for Success
Chef Lee’s culinary journey is a recipe worth savouring. From completing his apprenticeship in a Two Hat restaurant in Melbourne to a Chef de Partie at a modern restaurant in Noosa and leading the team as a Head Chef in Gippsland, Chef Lee has served up a wide range of cuisines across the country.
Hotels, cafés, fine dining restaurants or aged care homes, Chef Lee brings his own unique culinary flair into any kitchen. Before delving into aged care catering, Chef Lee modernized the local cafe experience and brought the fine dining pizazz to brunch. With delicious meals such as config pork belly with 62 degree eggs and truss roasted tomatoes, Chef Lee blended different cuisines from different cultures to enhance and broaden the menu, offering customers a truly unique brunch experience.
Raising the Steaks
Chef Lee’s arrival marks a new chapter in our culinary story. He’s ready to roll up his sleeves, get into the thick of things, and bring innovative ideas to the table.
Whether it’s introducing new recipes to the SoupedUp library or helping catering teams introduce software and set up their kitchen for success, Chef Lee is here to ensure that we work with our clients to stay ahead of the culinary curve.
When asked why he joined SoupedUp, Chef Lee said "I believe SoupedUp software makes a difference to catering teams which essentially makes a difference to residents".
As a Chef, it’s a privilege to be in residents homes and cook for them, and SoupedUp software makes it all that little bit easier.
