We know how under-the-pump aged care hospitality and lifestyle staff are during the Easter period, so we've created a down-to-the-minute Easter Event Day Guide to add to your events calendar.


Follow the schedule below for a whole day affair or rearrange the day to suit your residents schedule or specific mealtimes.


Schedule:


Welcome and Introduction (10:00 AM - 10:15 AM)

  • Welcome residents to the Easter event with warm greetings.

  • Introduce the day's schedule and highlight the activities planned.


Easter Egg Decorating (10:15 AM - 11:15 AM)

  • Set up crafting stations with boiled eggs, paint, stickers, and other decorating supplies.

  • Guide residents in decorating Easter eggs, encouraging creativity and self-expression.

  • Provide assistance and support to residents as needed.


Easter Parade and Hat Contest (11:30 AM - 12:15 PM)

  • Invite residents to participate in an Easter parade, showcasing their festive attire and decorated hats.

  • Organise a hat contest with categories such as "Most Creative," "Most Colourful," and "Best Easter Theme."

  • Encourage residents to walk or wheel around the designated parade area, cheering and applauding each other's efforts.


Easter Lunch(12:30 PM - 1:30 PM)

  • Arrange a special Easter lunch with a menu featuring traditional Easter dishes and favourite treats.

  • Decorate the dining area with Easter-themed tablecloths, centrepieces, and place settings.

  • Facilitate conversation and camaraderie among residents during the meal.


Easter Storytime and Sing-Along (1:45 PM - 2:30 PM)

  • Gather residents for a storytelling session focused on Easter traditions, folklore, and memories.

  • Read aloud from Easter-themed books or share personal anecdotes related to the holiday.

  • Lead residents in singing familiar Easter hymns or songs, encouraging participation and enjoyment.

Easter Bingo and Trivia (2:45 PM - 3:30 PM)

  • Organise a friendly game of Easter-themed bingo, using bingo cards featuring Easter symbols and images.

  • Incorporate Easter trivia questions between bingo rounds to keep residents entertained and engaged.

  • Award small prizes to winners of bingo games and trivia challenges.


Closing Remarks and Thank You (3:30 PM - 3:45 PM)

  • Express gratitude to residents for their participation and enthusiasm throughout the event.

  • Acknowledge staff and volunteers for their efforts in planning and organizing the Easter activities.

  • Invite residents to share feedback and suggestions for future events.
